The Centre team tracked Jarod to Cedar Point, North Carolina, where they discovered Jarod had learned about guns at a local firing range. Shadow targets discovered during investigation were shot through with bullet holes forming the numbers "10:19," perhaps a clue to Jarod's location. Team later learned that numbers represented the law enforcement code for a missing person. Interrogations revealed that Jarod had left North Carolina three days earlier. At his lair, Miss Parker and Sydney retrieved a book, "Criminology and Law Enforcement Procedures." Later, Miss Parker was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon based on an "anonymous" tip from Jarod. She was incarcerated in the Cedar Point jail. Unfortunately, she could not post bail because the local judge was away on a fishing trip. The legal staff of the Centre was unavailable as well, as they were on their annual retreat in the south of France. The Centre Tech Room received a signal alert on Jarod emanating from a missing persons agency in Miami, where Jarod had posted a photo of his mother online. A response signal was monitored from inside the Centre, indicating that someone inside the Centre made contact with the agency in Miami. Unsure at this time of the nature of the information breached. Miss Parker and sweeper team dispatched to Miami following her release from jail in North Carolina. Miss Parker arrived at missing persons office to interrogate agency owner Susan Granger. Jarod discovered at scene, but he fled via the fire escape. After Miss Parker fired a single shot, Jarod dropped the information file he received from Granger regarding his mother. File recovered by Miss Parker. Centre investigation underway for source of information leak.
Jarod's apartment strewn with dozens of boxes of stale doughnuts, curiously devoid of raspberry supremes and Bavarian cremes. Notebook retrieved at scene revealed more news clippings with headlines: "Jewelry Store Guard Marvin Kembrook Killed in Robbery Linked to Crime by Police"; "Father and Son Reunited by Local Woman" Picture included was of Susan Granger who runs a missing person's agency. This is also the woman Jarod contacted regarding information on finding his mother. Reconstruction information: Jarod posed as a crooked police officer in Miami to clear the name of a security guard framed for robbing a jewelry store by rogue cops moonlighting as jewel thieves. Marvin Kembrook had recently been united with his real father Harold Kembrook after many years in foster homes. Through Jarod's efforts, the slain guard's name was cleared, and the police officers, Carl Bishop and Frank Meyers, were indicted.
